The story of Distinctive Industries began in 1969 when two car enthusiasts from Alhambra, California, came up with the idea to start a company. Originally called Distinctive Vinyl Top Manufacturing Incorporated, the company moved to a small shop in Monrovia, California. By the following year, it had grown enough to establish a manufacturing facility in Bell Gardens, California.

Today, more than 55 years later, the dream that started in a small shop by the beach has turned into the world’s leading provider of quality OEM interiors for cars, trucks, and specialty vehicles from the 1960s to the 1980s. Distinctive Industries is a leader in this industry because they pioneered it. As one of the first to offer aftermarket factory replacement automotive interiors, this has allowed collectors and enthusiasts to maintain and restore their vehicles to their original glory.
